For many business owners, keeping track of all the laws and regulations that apply to their business can be a challenge. Knowing where to go to find the answers can be equaling challenging. This training session conducted by the U.S. Department of Labor/Wage-Hour Division will help ease the pain! At this dual-purpose training session, attendees will get a ‘refresher’ on the basics of the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act including minimum wage, overtime, recordkeeping and child labor. Attendees will also receive information on ‘hot-button’ issues, how to spot red flags and best practices on how to achieve and maintain compliance with federal wage and hour laws.

Corey Walton - Community Outreach & Resource Planning Specialist, USDOL
Corey Walton has been with the U.S. Department of Labor/Wage-Hour Division for 22 years. He spent 15 years as an investigator investigating hundreds of cases under several laws including the Fair Labor Standards Act, Davis-Bacon and the Family Medical Leave Act. Over the past seven years, Corey has served as the Community Outreach & Resource Planning Specialist (CORPS) in Wage and Hour’s Minneapolis District Office. In that capacity, Corey spends most of his time conducting and organizing DOL educational and training events throughout the states of Wisconsin and Minnesota.
