I would like to use my experience and leadership to foster continued growth and development for Appleton. My 20 years on council and knowledge of how the system works is an essential asset. I have the experience of holding an elected office and the leadership of being elected by my peers as two time council president. Only one other candidate has held an elected office and that was one term in 1990. No other candidate has held any elected office or gone through this budget process. I have gone through the process twenty times and served on the finance committee as vice chair and chaired all other standing committees. This experience and leadership is needed now more than ever to help Appleton grow the tax base with a well thought out comprehensive plan, maintain a fully staffed and trained workforce as well as all residents knowing they are safe and secure in their home and out in public. Keeping council informed and up to date will also foster better relationships with potential developers as we make long term financially sound decisions together. I am a lifelong Appleton resident. I was born here, met my wife here and raised a family here. I would like future generations to share the experience of growing up in a growing, accepting community for present and future generations, we owe it to them and I owe it to Appleton. |
I want Appleton to be a safe, affordable, welcoming, and vibrant city. We need to make and steward prudent, long-term investments that maintain the quality of services that the city provides to its businesses and residents. I also want to help our neighborhoods be strong; I want to empower neighbors to work together to develop solutions to challenges specific to their communities in ways that make sense to them, rather than imposing solutions from City Hall. |
