Special Education Teacher (Chilton Elementary School-Emotional Behavioral Disabilities)

Create a supportive learning environment for all students that encourages social interaction, active engagement in learning and self-reflection.  A working knowledge of conflict resolution, NVCI, trauma informed schools and best practices around mental health and positive behavior interventions. The ideal candidate will have the ability to establish effective working relationships with paraprofessionals, related service staff, outside agencies and establish a rapport with youth and families.

Chilton Elementary School provides a positive, safe environment for children to learn, and where all are valued. Our staff fosters safety and connectedness through the implementations of Conscious Discipline. As a PLC school, our teachers work collaboratively in recurring cycles of collective inquiry and action research to achieve better results for the students they serve. 

 

Summary Under the general direction of the Calumet County Director of Special Education, creates a successful educational program and safe, positive classroom environment resulting in high levels of learning and personal growth of each student that will contribute to their intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development with the philosophy and goals of the district. Performs other duties as assigned.
