  • Develops designs for liquid process systems using both drawings and written descriptions.
  • Demonstrates and promotes Crane’s core values (Act with Integrity and Respect, Foster Teamwork, Focus on the Customer, Strive for Excellence and Innovation, Project Passion and Energy and Have Fun).
  • Reviews project proposals, specifications and drawings to determine engineering requirements, project feasibility and tasks required for successful project completion.
  • Executes the strategy for conversion of a request for quotation (RFQ) to a proposal to a profitable order.
  • Meets required RFQ and project timelines from quote to shipment.
  • Specifies and makes ready to purchase engineering process equipment.
  • Creates shop routings which detail procedures and tasks that must be completed to finalize projects.
  • Manages the project timeline to meet or exceed delivery schedules.
  • Issues required customer documentation.
  • Develops and maintains the product and application knowledge necessary to service customers.
  • Supports and keeps sales and management staff informed of major projects; assists office and warehouse staff with application and product information.
  • Provides customer and employee product training and technical support on sales calls.
  • Provides the highest quality quotations for the application as outlined by the customer or Account Manager.
  • Accurately prices, verifies contractual obligations, internal costs, agency sales and stock/drop-shipments.
  • Monitors and maintains responsibility for profitability.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum three years related experience and/or training.
  • Experience within the industrial, pulp and paper or sanitary markets.
  • Knowledge of pumps, valves and process equipment.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new process.
  • Experience in quoting, sizing and selecting pumps and valves.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, AutoCad and other software programs, including vendor-based software.
  • Detail-oriented, technical individual with the ability to think through solutions and maintain a customer focus.
  • An innovative problem-solver capable of becoming a customer’s “go-to” engineer.
  • Ability to handle a varied and fast-paced workload to meet customer requirements for projects.
  • Well-organized and self-directed team player.
  • Ability to articulate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
