Job Description
Since 1993, TECC Security Systems, Inc. has been proudly serving the Fox Valley and surrounding areas by providing peace-of-mind residential and commercial security needs. 

Install, maintain, and repair intrusion detection and fire prevention systems, various alarm devices and related equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans. Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, card readers and video cameras, and attach electrical and phone wiring to connect components. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes.

Required Qualifications:
  • Builds effective relationships and collaborates with peers, managers and co-workers across the organization. Openly communicates, provides timely feedback and shares ideas.
  • Maintains high level of professionalism and represents TECC Security Systems, Inc. as an industry leader to competitors, customers, suppliers, colleagues and employees.
  • Preferred one year working experience in the alarm industry, or relatable field.
  • Basic understanding of some, or all, of the following: IP networking, access control, fire and security panels, and NFPA fire alarm codes.
  • Mechanical, electrical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to effectively use hand and power tools.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment and random drug test and background check.
  • Must maintain an acceptable driving record
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to lift, carry and handle up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to work at heights up to 25 feet
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed
Required Job Duties:
  • Troubleshoot - Examine systems to identify, locate and remedy problems.
  • Installation Expertise - Install security, access control, fire and camera systems with a high-degree of excellence ensuring all components are in working order and aesthetically pleasing to the customer. Gain a solid understanding and appreciation of pre-wiring, mounting and fastening various security devices with proper technique, programming control panels, code changes and connecting systems to customer networks.
  • System Maintenance – Ability to test and inspect existing system equipment, including wiring, voltage, batteries, and signal strength.
  • Customer Service – Greet and interact with customers onsite in a friendly and professional manner, answering questions as needed. Demonstrate systems for customers and explain the use of products or services. Ensure aesthetics of installation meets a level of excellence.
  • Documentation of Work Completed - Complete necessary documentation and paperwork in a timely manner, typically before leaving the job site, specifically noting details such as: equipment and inventory used, placement of various components, photos as needed, hours on the job, and whether work was completed, or follow-up is needed.
  • Quality ControlMaintain a high degree of quality control while on site, using proper installation and safety techniques, testing service and installations to ensure everything is working as it should, and cleaning up after each job.
  • Van Maintenance – Maintain a clean, organized and stocked work vehicle.
  • Back Shop Organization – Ensure to keep both the back-shop work area and personal work spaces organized and clean for other technicians and employees.
