Job Description
Crane Engineering is looking for a driven, solution focused Electrical and Instrumentation Service Technician to troubleshoot, repair and build electrical control systems that are used to monitor and control fluid process systems in a variety of markets.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates and promotes Crane’s core values (Act with Integrity and Respect, Foster Teamwork, Focus on the Customer, Strive for Excellence and Innovation, Project Passion and Energy and Have Fun).
  • Ability to read electrical drawings.
  • Installs conduit, power and control wiring.
  • Assembles electrical and pneumatic control panels.
  • Estimates electrical installation work.
  • Configures and calibrates instrumentation.
  • Configures and troubleshoots VFD’s.
  • Configures tunes and operates PID controllers.
  • Loads, troubleshoots and tests PLC and HMI programs.
  • Works with Ethernet communication networks.
  • Understands and ensures compliance with NEC regulations and UL quality standards.
  • Customer facing working with customers in the field.
  • Troubleshoots equipment and system problems utilizing basic test equipment.
  • Assists customers during new equipment start-ups.
  • Accurately prepares required customer and Crane documentation.
     
    Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a related field preferred
  • Minimum two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Position requires approximately 10% of overnight travel
  • Familiar with NEC regulations and UL quality standards
  • Experience with Ethernet communication networks a plus
  • Understands the interaction between the various parts of a system. Mechanical, electrical/electronic and the interfacing required for operation
  • Positive forward-thinking with high ethical standards
  • Ability to handle a varied and fast-paced workload to meet customer requirements
  • Well-organized and self-directed team player
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work occasional overtime. Participates in the after-hours on-call emergency service program
  • Lifting of various objects weighing up to 60 pounds
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
